Getting There

Angel Island State Park is a fantastic place to feel like you’ve really escaped for the day.  The island is only accessible by boat. Therefore a visit will require a little bit of planning.  Guests may come by private boat (see “To Do and See” for docking and mooring details) or public ferry.

All public ferry tickets are round-trip and all fares include park admission. The California State Park Annual Pass can be used to pay day-use dock fees for private boats, but is not accepted for visitors coming via the public ferries.

Access to the island varies by season.  Please check ferry schedules ahead of time so you don’t miss out on a visit!

Alcatraz / Angel island Cruises

This is a combination tour of two of the Bay’s most famous islands: Alcatraz and Angel Island.

Tour includes ferry rides to and from Angel Island and Alcatraz, a one-hour narrated Tram Tour of Angel Island, and the Alcatraz Cellhouse Audio Tour “Doing Time”.

Allow 5½ hours to complete your visit to both islands. Cruises run seasonally, visit their site for schedule & fares.

Charter Service

For an experience without the crowds, take a charter cruise to Angel Island with San Francisco Charter Boat. Departs and returns to Sausalito.
Visit San Francisco Charter Boat’s site for rates and details.

During the off season (November – March), all ferries run reduced schedules. We recommend checking schedules for every visit year around, but especially off-season, as schedules are subject to change and cancellation.
